Kılıç Akademi Publishing publishes print and digital books on public procurement and public contracts, along with the Kılıç İhale journal. The new site is a catalogue, a shop and a tool that keeps printed books up to date, all at once.
About the project
The biggest problem for a publisher in a field where legislation changes often is what happens after a book is printed. So we built a "Book Updates" system: the QR code in the printed book takes readers, without logging in, to a page with that book's corrections and legislation notes. Plum and cream tones with serif headings reflect the publisher's identity.
What we built
- Catalogue and search: Search by topic, title, author or ISBN; filter and sort by category and topic.
- Book pages: Description, authors, page count, language, topic, table of contents and a purchase box; print and digital editions are clearly labelled.
- E-commerce: Cart, checkout and the legal texts that go with distance selling, delivery and returns.
- Book updates: Corrections and legislation notes added after printing are published per book; members who bought the print or digital edition see them in their account.
- Journal and authors: The Kılıç İhale journal, author profiles and introduction videos.
- Light and dark themes: Follows the system setting or can be chosen manually; Turkish and English interface.
Mobile experience
The catalogue, book pages and search work just as easily on a phone. The publisher also has a mobile app: Kılıç Akademi mobile app.
